Introduction
monee is a personal finance app designed to help you track income, expenses, budgets, recurring payments, recurring income, and spending in one place.
Privacy is important to us. monee is designed as a local-first app: the financial information you enter is kept on your device as part of the app's normal operation. monee does not operate a backend, user account system, cloud database, or server-side storage for that information.

Information We Collect
monee does not collect personal or financial information on its own servers. The information you enter into monee is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to us as part of the app's normal operation.
This can include:
- Income and expenses
- Transaction descriptions and categories
- Budgets
- Recurring payments and recurring income
- Financial balances
- Notes
- Receipt photos you choose to add

Information We Don't Collect
The current version of monee does not collect the following on monee servers:
- Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
- Financial account credentials or bank account information
- Credit or debit card numbers
- Transaction data on a remote server
- Precise location or contacts
- Advertising identifiers for tracking
- Browsing or activity history

Local Storage
monee uses device-local storage to make the app work. Your financial information remains on your device unless you intentionally export, back up, or otherwise share it using functionality provided by the app or by your device.
Deleting monee or clearing its local data may permanently remove information stored locally, depending on your device and platform behavior. Consider making an export or backup first if you need to keep a copy.

Receipt Photos
If you choose to attach receipt photos, those photos are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to a monee server. You control whether you grant monee access to your camera or photos through your device's permission settings.

Notifications
monee may use local notifications for features such as recurring income and recurring expense reminders. These notifications are generated for your device and are not used by monee to collect personal information.

PIN & Biometric Security
monee can optionally use a PIN and/or your device's biometric authentication to protect access to financial information. Biometric authentication is handled by your device's operating system. monee does not receive or store fingerprints, facial scans, or other biometric data.

Analytics, Tracking & Advertising
The current version of monee:
- Does not use analytics
- Does not track users
- Does not display advertisements
- Does not sell personal information
- Does not use personal financial information for advertising

Third-Party Services
monee does not operate a backend or remote database for storing user financial information. The app may rely on operating-system functionality or libraries required for features such as local storage, notifications, photos, camera access, device security, and export. Those capabilities are provided through your device or platform. monee does not use them to collect your financial information on monee servers.

Data Security
Keeping financial information locally reduces the need to transmit that information to monee servers. However, no software or device can guarantee absolute security. You should also protect your device with an appropriate passcode, keep its operating system up to date, and use the security features available on your device.

Data Retention & Deletion
Because financial data is stored locally, you control how long it remains on your device. You can delete financial information through the deletion functionality available in monee and/or by removing the app and its local data. There is no server-side monee account that needs to be deleted.

Backups & Exports
If you use monee's export or backup functionality, the resulting files are controlled by you. monee does not automatically upload those files to a monee server. You are responsible for where you choose to store or share exported data and for the security of those locations.

Children's Privacy
The current product materials do not specify a separate child-focused audience or age requirement. This policy does not make an age-specific claim. If monee's intended audience or age requirements change, this section will be updated.

Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when monee's functionality or privacy practices change. When we do, we will update the Effective Date shown at the top of this page. You should review this page periodically for the current information.
